LED PAR-cans
Bringing the light perfectly onto the stage via PAR spotlights
Anyone who wants to put concert performances, shows or dance events perfectly in the light is practically dependent on PAR spotlights. A large selection in various formats and designs, which are of course equipped with modern LED technology, can be found in this category of the LTT online store.
PAR spotlights are named after the English abbreviation for "parabolic aluminized reflector" and are probably the most commonly used Floodlights in event lighting. The name became popular from the end of the 1970s, when the housings of these spotlights, previously mostly made of heavy steel with internal cooling plates, were built of much lighter aluminum sheet and did not require an additional cooling device. Due to their elongated shape, these Floodlights are often referred to as "PAR-cans" (PAR-can) and are available with various luminous surface diameters, which are specified exclusively in eighths of an inch due to their origin in the English-speaking world. The most common formats in stage lighting are PAR 56 and PAR 64, which correspond to a diameter of slightly less or slightly more than 20 cm.
PAR spotlights also benefit from LED technology in many ways
Since the beginning of this millennium, PAR spotlights have increasingly been offered with LEDs, which have now largely replaced conventional halogen light sources. Clear advantages of this technology are basically a significantly lower power consumption, the lower self-heating as well as the longevity of the Floodlights. In addition, LED panels enable a flatter design, which allows even more flexible use. In principle, LED PAR spotlights generate light from the primary colors red, green, blue and white, so they can display many different colors - at least the models marked RGBW. Especially in clubs, multicolored lightshows are thus possible, which one would hardly have thought possible in the past.
The PAR spotlights comes into its own best in the set
As you can see from the illustrations and product descriptions, we offer many of our PAR spotlights in sets of four, six or eight. Because as bright and flexible as a single one of them may be: So-called shadow or runway effects can only be optimally reproduced with Floodlights connected behind or next to each other. Detailed information on luminous intensity and beam angle can also be found in our product presentations.
Somewhat smaller PAR spotlights in PAR 36 format (approx. 11 cm) are also becoming increasingly popular as single units for illuminating private living spaces, where they can be used, for example, to replace conventional Pendant lights. If you have any questions about this alternative use as well, please feel free to contact us with them.
